JOHN BRADSHAW
One of the 100 Most Influential Writers On Emotional Health in the Twentieth Century.
Successful Event Recommendations and Audio Visual Requirements
John Bradshaw’s staff will verify the AV requirements and room set up prior to the event. However these are some of the things you may want to consider, or what you might anticipate.
For questions or concerns, please contact our office at (713) 771-1300.
John Bradshaw is committed to making your event a success. He has lectured before millions of people over the past forty years and understands your investment of time and money in your event.
Helper:
- Sponsor agrees to assign a person to Mr. Bradshaw during the course of the event should he require assistance at any time during the meeting or workshop. This person should be proficient in Microsoft Office PowerPoint, and will be responsible for overseeing the set up and proper functioning of audio visual equipment, computer, meals, security, music and lighting for meditations, etc.
- Often the slightest changes in lighting and sound affect the overall ambiance at the event and influence the outcome of John Bradshaw’s presentation. John always gives his audiences the best performance her can, whether he is speaking before a group of 50 or 5,000. His events are transformative.
Continuing Education Units
- While your group will be responsible for going through the proper channels to obtain CECs or CEUs for your participants, John Bradshaw will provide you with teaching points based on the topic you suggest for your workshop or meeting.
AV Requirements
- John Bradshaw uses a LAVALIERE MICROPHONE--Wireless is preferable. Please make sure that the AV department has a back-up microphone and batteries available at all times.
- John Bradshaw often uses Microsoft POWERPOINT throughout his presentation. John Bradshaw may require a LCD Projector and the cable to connect it into his laptop. The images will be shown at a resolution of 1024x768. As long as the projector used can handle this, it will work fine. John prefers to use a clicker to advance the program. Please make sure your assistant will be there to assist John, as he will need their help--Key point: the projector should be able to show 500 lumens or more. PLEASE make sure that there is a monitor for John to see what is being projected on the screens if they are not within his line of sight.
- At times, John will use an overhead projector and a screen. Please make sure there is enough room on the table for the projector, transparencies and pens.
- Often during workshops, John utilizes experiential exercises. He will need a CD player or occasionally, an audio-cassette player with a sound system that those in the room can hear.
Lighting
- Please make sure the room is well lit, especially the stage area. People seem to remember and laugh more in a brighter environment. However, during meditations, it will be important so have someone available to dim the lights and turn them back up when the meditation is complete. John will cue you on this.
Staging
- John often likes to use a podium—please be sure a chair or stool, and a small table are nearby on the staging area.
- Please have a bottle of purified water and glass on the podium. He also drinks diet ginger ale, diet Coca Cola, and black coffee.
- While John often stays to answer questions during the breaks, he needs time to take personal breaks and would like some fruit or protein as snacks. Please have a private area close by that John can retreat to.
Recording or Taping:
- No audio or video taping, either for commercial or personal use, is permitted by Sponsor or participants.
- With respect for Privacy Laws (HIPPA) and anonymity, Mr. Bradshaw reserves the right to video tape or record his lecture, presentation, or workshop at the venue.
Seating
- Seating for various events can vary drastically…for experiential workshops, John prefers seating to be in groups of 4-6 rounds (no table-just chairs.) John will let you know what your seating should be once you have agreed upon a format for your event.
- For the benefit of your audience, and Mr. Bradshaw, please request from the hotel or auditorium management that the meeting room have no distracting noise from an adjoining room, such as a singing group, rock bank, etc. during the time Mr. Bradshaw is presenting his keynote or seminar.
- It is difficult to build intimacy and rapport if your audience is still eating. Please instruct the banquet staff to clear up AFTER John’s presentation.
Additional
- During some of the feeling workshop intensives, especially the Inner Child Workshop, Finishing Your Business With Mother, Healing the Father Wound, Healing The shame That Binds You, John will request that therapists, preferably trained in the John Bradshaw methodology of treatment, be made available. He will need to meet with the therapists prior to the workshop. Please provide a box of Kleenexes for each 6 people.
- John will have a signup sheet for those who wish to be added to John’s emails. This information sheet will not be shared with others.
- John Bradshaw will sign books, CDs or DVDs at a pre-agreed upon time during or after the conference. It is especially helpful if the Sponsor provides attendees with the opportunity to purchase John’s books, DVDs or CDs. Attendees will also have an opportunity to have a photo taken with John.
